The Motorola CDC driver is a self contained driver recommended for installation when a Motorola Scanner must be used in USB CDC host mode
The Motorola CDC driver is an alternative, replacement to the standard Windows native CDC driver provided with the Windows OS.
The driver conforms to Microsoft’s Windows Driver Model (WDM) and is certified by Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL) for Windows XP 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit operating systems.

The Motorola CDC Driver is compatible with the following Operating Systems:

Note: An update to the Motorola CDC driver is planned for 2nd quarter 2013. This update (v2.0) will include support for Windows 8

· Hot plugging of scanner is fully supported. The scanner can be disconnected from the USB port and then reconnected, allowing the application to continue to function (assuming the application has been designed to do so)

To begin installation:
1. For Windows XP, download the 32-bit driver. Windows XP 64-bit is not supported at this time.
2. For Windows 7, download either the 32-bit driver or the 64-bit driver appropriate to your OS version.
3. Unzip the file and run the InstallShield executable.
4. Click Next when the InstallShield Wizard Welcome screen is displayed:

5. Review the Motorola Solutions, Inc. End User License Agreement and click Yes upon agreement. You may print the License Agreement for your records.

6. After Clicking Yes, the installation is ready to begin, click Next to begin installation:

7. Upon completion, the option to restart will be presented. To ensure all remaining CDC drivers are removed from memory, a reboot is recommended. You can choose to restart now or later. If you wish to restart now, leave “Yes” checked and click Finish. The computer will be restarted automatically; otherwise, select “No” and click Finish and restart the host manually when ready prior to moving onto the next steps:

Enabling USB CDC Host mode occurs in three steps:
1. On the host computer, insure the driver installation steps above have been completed and the computer has been restarted.
2. Configure your scanner to communicate in USB CDC Host mode by scanning the barcode below:
3. Windows will install the new Motorola CDC driver into its system directories. Once this is complete, the scanner is ready to be used in CDC mode.
